Meet Jesus

First Step: Understand

JOHN 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Scripture References:

ROMANS 3:23

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

JOHN 10:10

"I have come that they may have life and have it in abundance."

ROMANS 5:8

"But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

EPHESIANS 2:8

"For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift - not from works so that no one can boast."

ROMANS 10:9

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised you from the dead, you will be saved."

Second Step: Act

If you trust that Jesus died for your sins and you're ready to receive new life through Him, pray a prayer similar to this to express your repentance and faith in Him:

"Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died to forgive me of my sins. I now accept Your offer of eternal life. Thank You for forgiving me of all my sin. Thank you for my new life. From this day forward, I will choose to follow you"

If you have trusted Jesus for salvation, share your decision with us.

If you are not already attending church, we invite you to come worship and grow in your faith at Valley Grove Baptist.

Third Step: Learn and Grow in Faith (Sanctification}

Sanctification is important because it's a process of becoming more like Jesus Christ and living a life that honors God:

  • It's a process of setting apart

Sanctification involves being set apart by God for holiness and service.

  • It's a process of fruit

The fruit of sanctification includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

  • It's a lifelong process

Sanctification is a daily process that involves repentance, confession, and forgiveness. It's not about perfection, but about persistence in fighting sin.

  • It's a work of God and Christians

Sanctification is a cooperative effort between God and Christians. Christians work with the Holy Spirit to be transformed into a new Christlike creation.

  • It's a process of renewal

Sanctification renews people in the image of God, enabling them to live lives that are pleasing to Him.
